StoryaEdit by Neuraltree Private Limited is a web app that gives serious fiction writers developmental, line-level, and scene-level editorial feedback on their manuscripts. This document explains what we collect, why, and who processes it on our behalf.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address and authentication information when you create an account or log in.
- Manuscript content. The chapters, scenes, and text you submit for analysis, together with any context you add (such as chapter number, point-of-view character, or the concern you want addressed).
- Usage and billing. How much of the service you use, and — if you subscribe — the billing information needed to manage your subscription. Card details are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
- to produce the editorial analysis you ask for;
- to operate, secure, and improve the service;
- to manage your account and, if you pay, your subscription;
- to contact you about your account or material changes to the service.
AI processing and the services we rely on
To generate feedback, the text you submit is processed by third-party providers that operate under contract on our behalf, solely to deliver the service to you:
- Anthropic — the large-language-model analysis that produces your editorial feedback.
- Voyage AI — turns craft-library and manuscript text into embeddings used for retrieval.
- Qdrant Cloud — stores those embeddings for the craft library's vector search.
- Supabase — stores your account record and your feedback history.
- Stripe — processes payments if you subscribe.
- Railway — hosts the application.
These providers are engaged to process your content only to provide StoryaEdit to you. We do not sell your manuscripts, and we do not use your work to train models for our own purposes.
Data retention
Your account record and feedback history are kept while your account is active so you can return to past analyses. You can ask us to delete your account and its associated data at any time; one email, and it is gone.
Security
Traffic to and from StoryaEdit is encrypted in transit. Access to stored data is restricted to what is needed to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your manuscripts as the private, unpublished work they are.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Write to the address below and we will act on it.
Children
StoryaEdit is for adults working on long-form fiction. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the dateline at the top will be updated. Substantive changes — anything that affects what we collect or how it is used — will be communicated to account holders before they take effect.
